COUPLES &
RELATIONSHIP THERAPY |
“A great marriage is not when
the ‘perfect couple’ comes together, but when an imperfect couple learns to
enjoy their differences” (Dave Meurer). |
Our relationships can be the greatest pleasure in life, bringing
lasting love, security, contentment, and fulfilment. That’s why its so painful when things aren’t
going well within them.
Communication difficulties can often leave us feeling sad, lonely,
anxious, insecure and angry.
We might feel stuck in conflicts that never get fully resolved or
feel misunderstood, unappreciated or emotionally disconnected.
In relationship counselling we will address the issues that are
causing you distress in a safe, calm environment of mutual respect, where all
voices will be heard.
We will look at your communication styles to see if we can approach
difficult conversations and arguments in a more compassionate and productive
way.
Sometimes difficulties in relationships stem from unresolved past
issues or old patterns of relating and behaving, (ever been the in the same
relationship just with different people)?
We can work together to approach things from a new perspective to
build a stronger relationship. I can guide you with exercises and techniques to
put your relationship back on track and feel more connected again.
Some of the issues addressed in couples / relationship counselling:
Frequent arguments and conflicts
Poor communication between
each other and being misunderstood.
Anxiety due to problems in the relationship
Impacted self-esteem and confidence
Emotional distance
Affairs and betrayals
Separation & divorce
Specific problems such as money, parenting, intimacy and trust.
